Seven Swans a Swimming,Six Geese a Laying and a sick sick family....

So far December has been quite the month. We have all be sick.
Either with a cold and cough or the flu.
Now that Layla is in school not only does she bring home lots of beautiful pictures and project, she brings home all kinds of germs.
Towards the end of November Lay came down with a bad cough. It of course traveled through most of the family. Everyone was able to get rid of it fairly fast, except me. I still have it. It's been a little over a month and I'm still hacking away. It is horrible. I finally gave in and went to the doctors yesterday. They gave me an inhaler and a prescription. I hope it does the trick. Some how I managed to pull a muscle in my ribs coughing so hard. It is so painful and there is nothing I can do for it..
Last week Jodi came down with a 24 hour flu and about 24 hours later Layla got it. 24 hours after that I got it, Ryder got it, Josh got it and even Grandma got it. It was horrible. Poor Ryder had such a bad fever that we ended up taking him to the ER. To make it worse Josh and I were just as sick so we felt pretty useless. I can't not even explain how sick I was. I could hardly keep my head up. Once we got Ryder's fever down he recovered pretty quickly. I think the 14 hours of sleep helped! :)
I am happy to say that we are all feeling a lot better and I sure hope this cough goes away. I really don't want chest Xrays.

Last night we finally got our tree put up and decorated. We let Layla do most of the decorating. Ryder wanted to help, but isn't quite big enough yet! :)

We have pretty much got all our Christmas shopping done. YAY! We have one more Layway to pick up. We are planning on leaving it in there as long as we can. We are running out of hiding spots for these spoiled kiddos. I am so excited for Lay and Ryder to see all the neat stuff Santa is bringing for them..

Cutest story ever:
The other night we were all watching "The Polar Express" and Layla turns to me and says "Mom if I was bad with Santa bring me lots of toys?" I said " Nope, Santa only brings toys to good boys and girls!" She turns to me and starts to cry and says " OH, NO! Mom Santa isn't going to bring me anything I've been bad! I lied to you and said I brushed my teeth when I really didn't!" I was speechless. Part of me wanted to laugh and part wanted to cry. I looked at her and said " Well I think because you just told me the truth and you promise to never lie about brushing your teeth again, Santa will probably understand."

I love that girl so much.

Ryder is a whoppin' 18lbs.
He is such a chunker. An adorable chunker! He rolls around the whole floor, and it's impossible to keep him in one spot. He can sit up and is eating all sorts of things. :)

Christmas is in less than 2 weeks! I have been missing my family so much. Holidays are going to be weird without them this year..
