Day One

Well it is finally happening! We are on our way to PA!
We left our home in Salt Lake today to make a new home in Pennsylvania!
We had originally planned on getting up and the butt crack of dawn and heading off. This of course didn't happen because of the huge thunder storm that Salt Lake got last night. Luckily we had the trailer all packed before it hit, but we did still have a lot to do! Not to mention we were so tired from packing that we over slept.
We finally got on the road about 9:30am. Only 4.5 hours after we had planned. haha
We were both so worried about how our tiny car was going to handle all the weight, but I am happy (and relieved) to say that it is handling like a champ. Parleys canyon was a little tuff in spots and one other canyon just out of Cheyenne WY, other than that we have been cruising at a steady 65mph. Yes, I know 65mph is nothing to brag about. But we are stoked on it. We were thinking we would be lucky to do 50mph. :)
We ended up in Big Spring, Nebraska. Has a nice ring to it don't it! haha
We checked into our room and ate some dinner and off to bed. Well Ryder is snoozing and Lay is about there. Josh is trying to snooze, Ollie is meowing like crazy and driving us all nuts and well me.. I am blogging. ;)
Alarm is set for 5am and off we will go to Illinois. Josh and I are hoping to stay the night in Chicago. We probably will unless it is way far out of the way.
Well Lay wants to cuddle with Mama and Ryder is snoozing with Daddy.
Off to bed I go....
Stay tuned!

p.s
The kids are being AWESOME! Thank god. :)

Less than a week...

In less than a week we will be on our way to our new home! On our way to Pennsylvania!
I am getting so excited, yet sad. It's really bitter sweet. Today I got most of our shopping done. Just a few little odds and ends and we should be good.
I have tried to somewhat map out our journey. I figure we will drive about 12 hours a day, but I'm trying not to have anything set in stone considering we have 2 young kiddos with us. I will be happy just as long as we get there all happy and in one piece. :)
We got Layla this awesome DVD player that has 10 games on with it, and a controller of her own. It looks just like Josh's, but mini. She got some neat headphones, and this awesome try to set on her lap.She got about 5 new DVD's and some other neat stuff to help keep her happy. We are waiting til we leave to give it all to her. We can't wait to see how stoked she will be.
We have had a busy week thus far and it is going to continue to be that way up until we leave. Tomorrow really is the only "free" day I will have. Once Josh gets off work we are going to my Dads to put our hitch on and Layla is going to have one last sleepover with Papa Mick and Linda. ;)
Then Thursday we have a doctors appt. with Doctor Jeff. It's Ryder's 2 month check up and Layla is getting a couple shots. Lucky girl. haha Thursday night we are getting together with my Mom and one of her childhood friends that is in town.
Saturday we are going to get a oil change on the car and make sure it is in tip top shape.
Saturday night we are having dinner with some friends and family. Then heading to my sisters for desserts and to hang out with everyone, on last time before we go.
Sunday is packing day. We are picking up the trailer early in the morning and going to spend the day packing all our stuff. We plan on leaving town about 5am Monday morning.

Layla is spending most of the week with her Dad. Last Sunday they had a "Bike" party for her. Her dad and all his family were there. Sounded like she had a blast. Last night her and her Dad went camping. :)
I am glad they are getting to spend this last bit of time together. I know both of them are going to miss each other.

Well Ryder is hungry and tired.
Off I go.

Just Kidding.. bye bye SLC!

Well looks like we are going to move to Pennsylvania after all.
Lets just say it will be for the best!
I am pretty emotional about it. I am still excited, just scared I guess. I was so excited to go in the first place then once we decided to stay I was so bummed I think I started to think negative about it so I wasn't so bummed! I feel like we are on a rollercoster and I am so ready to just get off.
It's official though. We already went and scheduled our trailer and ordered our hitch.
Monday August 29th is the day. The day we say good by to the 801. I will just be relieved once we are there and settled. I am really going to miss my family and friends. I was just getting use to the idea of my family getting to see Ryder grow up. I know deep down this is going to be great and Josh's family in PA is going to be amazing and make us feel loved and welcomed this is just a big deal for me. I think more than anything I am scared of the unknown. Like I have mentioned before, I trust Josh and I know he wouldn't be moving us there if he thought it wasn't for the very best. I think the hardest part was telling Joel that Layla was leaving after all. He doesn't think Josh and I care, but we do. I just hope that he can see that this is going to be great for Layla. She is going to be living on a farm with tons of animals and have so much to keep her occupied! I know she will miss her Dad too! Life isn't always perfect though.. Oh man so that means in less than 2 weeks we will be on our way. It is going to be an adventure for sure! It should be interesting. I'm excited to travel and do some sight seeing. The farthest I've gone is probably Cali. haha
I am excited to be so close to NYC and Philly.

Now for all the planning.... We have to figure out how many miles we are going to go in a day and where we are going to stop for the night. Get hotels in order and all that jazz.
We are going to try and make it there in three day. We figured if we drive 12 hours a day, three days is doable. We can just take turns driving.
Well I will be very relieved once we are there and everyone is safe and sound.

Can't catch a break!

Call it bad luck, call it a flook, call it what you want.
I call it BULL!
So yesterday our savings account was drained out. We got a recorded call telling us that our debit card was closed and if this incorrect to press one. Me, just thinking that it was legit hit one and entered all our info. Yep, stupid stupid me!
Luckily we caught it in time and all our money should be back to us by tomorrow.
Then tonight I was doing laundry at the mat and I set my stuff down like I always do walked over to the washer to grab our clothes and I see this guy put something in his pocket. So I of course, went over there to make sure all my stuff was there. Well our laundry card thing was gone. So I asked the only two people in there if they saw it. To make an extremely long story short. The assholes stole our laundry card. So here I am with three loads of wet clothes and no way to dry them. There was only about a buck on the card, thank god I hadn't put the ten on there yet. The point isn't the money, it's the fact that you can't do anything without that stupid card and they cost to get another one and the fact that  those jerks stole from me. I confronted them and everything. I am just so annoyed with shitty people. Seriously, Josh works hard for our money and it makes me so mad. Nothing is just handed to us, why is it fair that people take our money like it's nothing. I believe in Karma, so I hope these people get there's! Makes me wonder though, Josh and I are good people why all the shit?...
Bitch Bitch Bitch. Sorry I needed to get that off my chest.

Some good news is, it sounds like we have a good chance that we are getting that town home we have been waiting on. Need to bring in a couple things tomorrow and hopefully by Friday we'll know! We could really use some good news right about now!

If we don't get it, we really need to get looking for a place asap!
I HATE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO LIVE!
It always seems so complicated. Not to mention it costs so much. By the time your apply with 3 places, it costs like 80 bucks. Application fee's suck!
Some other good news is, we are getting a nice little collection of furniture again. Thanks to our friends and family! <3 you all!

Well Bubba is sleeping and Lay is at Grandpa Micks for a sleepover.
I say it's a perfect time for Mama to get some shut eye!

TGIF

So happy it's Friday.
Not that I really get a weekend break from my job, but I love the weekends bc Josh is home with us.
Weekends are just too short. :(
I don't think anything too exciting is going on. Maybe some house hunting. We are still waiting to hear back from that one place we want way bad. Good news is they already called our references and checked our rental history. Which are both great so everyone cross your fingers for us please! :)

It's kinda funny how things work out. About 2 or 3 months ago I was blogging, begging people to take our furniture and stuff. Now here I am, about to blog about how if anyone has any furniture they don't want to let us know. haha
I'm not too worried about it, but it would be nice for Josh and I to at least have a bed to sleep on. Like I mentioned before both the kiddos still have most all there stuff. Really that's most important. :)

Nothing too exciting about this post. Mostly I am just trying to take advantage of the fact that I have a few minuets to blog! :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Talk to ya soon!

Staying in the 801

Yep, looks like we have had a change of plans and we are going to stay here in Utah for another year or so. Going to be honest I am a little bummed because I was so looking forward to getting outta here and starting somewhere new. On the other hand though I think us waiting is actually going to be the best thing for us right now. So not much going on besides house hunting now. We only have a month to find somewhere to call home for the next year. We had some luck and found this adorable 3 bedroom town home and we are crossing our finger that we get it! Josh and I both have our hearts set on it! Looks like we have to wait til next week some time to find out. :( In the mean time we are looking at some other places just in case. It hasn't been fun though. We went and looked at one place today that was well, SHADY as hell. Pretty much a waste of time. Which was a little frustrating because I specifically asked the landlord what the neighbors were like and the area, and explained to him I have two small kids. He assured me that it was kid friendly and the neighbors were great. Maybe some of the neighbors are nice and all, and I try not to judge a book by its cover, but when the cover is covered in sh*t, its hard not to judge!  Anyways I guess we will keep hunting and hopefully we will get that one and don't have to worry about it anymore!

It seems like life has been so crazy the past few months and all of us crammed in a little one bedroom right now is no fun and gets old fast. It will be nice to get settled in somewhere and have a place to call home again. Our house will be empty considering we gave ALL our furniture, dishes, ect. away. I'm excited to start over though and get all new things.. It might take us a while but it will be worth it in the end. I will be perfectly happy just knowing that we have a nice place to call home. Really its just Josh and I that are going to be without. Both the kiddos have it all still! :)
Mr. Ryder is getting so big! I can not believe it! He can already roll over from his tummy to his back. Such a little stud! :) He just keeps getting cuter and cuter everyday. He smiles all the time, and tries to tell us all his stories! We all just love him to death. The fam is very excited we are staying and they get to keep him and Lay here close to them. I can't say I blame them.
Lets see I think that's about all that is going on with us. Josh is doing good, loves being Daddy! His son is truly his pride and joy! Layla is perfect as ever. Excited to stay here close to her Dad. And me, I am great. Besides the sleepless nights that come with a new baby and the stress of finding a place to live, I am great! Love my little family to death!

Until next time, and who knows when that'll be!
