Day One

Well it is finally happening! We are on our way to PA!
We left our home in Salt Lake today to make a new home in Pennsylvania!
We had originally planned on getting up and the butt crack of dawn and heading off. This of course didn't happen because of the huge thunder storm that Salt Lake got last night. Luckily we had the trailer all packed before it hit, but we did still have a lot to do! Not to mention we were so tired from packing that we over slept.
We finally got on the road about 9:30am. Only 4.5 hours after we had planned. haha
We were both so worried about how our tiny car was going to handle all the weight, but I am happy (and relieved) to say that it is handling like a champ. Parleys canyon was a little tuff in spots and one other canyon just out of Cheyenne WY, other than that we have been cruising at a steady 65mph. Yes, I know 65mph is nothing to brag about. But we are stoked on it. We were thinking we would be lucky to do 50mph. :)
We ended up in Big Spring, Nebraska. Has a nice ring to it don't it! haha
We checked into our room and ate some dinner and off to bed. Well Ryder is snoozing and Lay is about there. Josh is trying to snooze, Ollie is meowing like crazy and driving us all nuts and well me.. I am blogging. ;)
Alarm is set for 5am and off we will go to Illinois. Josh and I are hoping to stay the night in Chicago. We probably will unless it is way far out of the way.
Well Lay wants to cuddle with Mama and Ryder is snoozing with Daddy.
Off to bed I go....
Stay tuned!
xxoo

p.s
The kids are being AWESOME! Thank god. :)

  1. The kids would like the ferris wheel at navy pier if you do Chicago. We are just leaving their. Wish you came threw a day early and you could've bunked w us. I know all too well the struggle points for the vehicle! And being proud of going 65 mps! PS- stay away from the South Side of Chicago!!! The rest is perfectly safe and clean. The beggars will come up to ur window which is unnerving but they've been harmless so far. Best of luck on the rest of ur journey and maybe we'll pass each other in NB!! Look for our big ugly maroon van w/ silver trailer!
